History of the Hue Citadel

Hue Citadel was built in 1804, located next to the romantic Perfume River, which is recognized as a world cultural heritage. Hue Citadel is a historical relic including Hoang Thanh - the place where the King dwellers work every day and the Forbidden City - is where the King and Queen live.

According to researchers, this place has more than 100 works from large to small. Hoang Thanh consists of 4 doors. The main gate of the citadel toward the south is Ngo Mon Gate, the other 3 doors are divided equally: the East is Hien Nhon, the West is Chuong Duc and the North is Hoa Binh.

Thai Hoa Palace has undergone many restoration and repair times. This place has bold architectural style of Hue royal court. With the main material used is ironwood. The parts in electricity such as roof, walls, pillars are all carved with the image of a dragon phoenix.

Thai Binh Lau

Thai Binh Lau is located in the northeast of Hue Citadel . This place is the place where the King can rest, drink tea, read books, admire the scenery. Although it has undergone many restoration and repair times, Thai Binh Lau still retains its beauty in its ancient architecture.
